WATER REPELLENCE IN EVERY DETAIL

YKK® AquaGuard® VISLON® water repellent front zip and YKK® AquaGuard® water repellent chest pocket zips.

NO MORE SNAGS

Anti-snag hem draw cords discourage snagging when harnesses and gear is worn; a problem encountered with traditional loop draw cords.

WATERPROOF, WINDPROOF, BOMBPROOF

Sheds snow, turns back rain, blocks wind and breathes.

SKJOLDR™ is a proprietary, super tough, waterproof, breathable hard shell fabric developed by Jöttnar in conjunction with leading Japanese textile scientists and fabric mills.

WRISTS SEALED

Triple reinforced stitching ensures the VELCRO™ will not detach from the garment. Hypalon® cuff tabs are harder wearing and longer lasting than fabric cuff tabs. The elasticated cinch provides the best possible seal against the elements.

The best ski jacket I've ever worn. Simple

I've been skiing for over 40 years and have gone through a plethora of jackets.
A friend recommended Jottnar before Christmas and I treated myself to the Bergelmir on the back of his praises.
It certainly lived up to my high expectations!!
Great feel, functionality and look.
Wonderfully dry, light and very comfortable.
I cannot recommend it highly enough. The quality shines through and demonstrates why the brand is becoming increasingly popular!

The best hardshell I've had!

Father Christmas did the decent thing this year and left me a Bergelmir under the christmas tree!. As you would expect from Jottnar the jacket is of top quality and a great fit!. Now I can say for 100% that this jacket is bombproof as I was out the other weekend in the 80 mile an hour winds and the heaviest rain you could imagine!. The jacket kept me bone dry through driving rain into hail and finally on to snow where I set up camp around 850 meters on Ben lomond. My Rab latok over trousers on the other hand had the opposite effect with the rain as they were more like a sponge so they are going into retirement!. Everything about this jacket is quality down to the finest detail!. The fabric is top notch and very breathable. I'm also liking the cut as all my past jackets have been tight under the armpit and shoulders. I cannot fault it any way, shape or form! For Christmas santa please can I have a pair of Vanir LT ?

3 years on

I've had the Bergelmir for 3 seasons now. Mine was bought in the origional Polartech fabrich so this review is for the older version of the jacket. It's only just coming to the end of it's life after 3 hard winter's working on the Scottish mountains. The fit is brilliant for me and very comfortable. Quality materials. Well designed. Great hood that adjusts well and fits well. The pockets are roomy enough for a map and gloves, etc. Always a feature I look for in a hardshell. Very breathable material and great in wild, snowy conditions. Look forward to seeing the improvements in the new laminate. Service from these guys is always fast and helpful. Top marks.

It was awesome!

Just back from a few days late summer alpine climbing in Arolla & bought the Bergelmir just before I left. Our second day out from the Dix hut was pretty griz with all other groups turning back on the lower slopes of the Pigne D'Arolla so it was time to test the jacket: it was awesome! It felt lightweight, flexible (almost like a soft shell), super-breathable and above all I stayed dry. When we got above the rain and the temperature dropped I kept it on as a wind & snow-proof outer layer & only took it off as we descended & the sun came out. Best jacket I've owned by far.
